Hello everyone! I'd like to share with you this rendering that I've been working on last month. I think that the M3 GTS is one of the best looking car, so you must try to render it.
Those are the main steps that I followed to make this rendering:
First, you have to create the sketch and the background. I always set up the main shadow from the start, to understand the lights better.
Now, you have to create the shape of the car and set a color. On the next layer, you can put the windshield shape along with headlamps, wheels, vents and so on. Between those 2 layers, you must create a layer that must contain some soft-looking shadows (like when the paint would be matt).
Because you have the main shapes, now, you can start to add some details, glass effect, etc.
The hard part, and the fun one starts now! With Pen Tool, you have to create light reflections. This part take some time because you need to understand the shape and how the light is reflected.
But, if you do that correctly, you will notice that the looks of the car will be more realistic.
If you have a realistic background, you need to integrate the car in the scene. You can create some shadows and lights with a soft brush and a layer on Overlay mode.
Finally, you can put some extra reflections if you want to have a super realistic look.
Before saving the file in a jpeg version, you can change the contrast, saturation and other things in order to have a balanced rendering.
If you want to view the psd. file, you can contact me at ispy_art@yahoo.com and I'll be happy to send you the file. Good luck and enjoy the process!
